The chaperone of the Lakota AI Code Camp will be responsible for assisting the Camp Instructors with the overall safety and the day-to-day operations of camp.

Lakota AI Code Camp is looking for highly qualified individuals to represent the camp well and to provide our students with a positive camp experience from June 10-30, 2023. The summer day camp is a three (3) week program with one (1) day of staff training. The Lakota AI Code Camp will begin on 6/10/23 and end on 6/30/23. The Camp Chaperone will be expected to attend the training meeting on 6/10/23 with the Camp Administrators and Instructors.


Essential Job Functions 

• Supervise campers and interact with instructors and administrators. 

• Implement crisis and risk management procedures, when needed. 

• Oversee the daily operation of campers and safety. 

• Know and understand the safety plan. 

• Responsible for enforcing camp curfew

• Supervise campers’ “wind down” and “lights out” routines 

• Ensure all campers abide by curfew rules and routines.

• Work collaboratively with internal and external groups to ensure the enhancement of the camp operation. 

• Participates in all activities with their groups, making camp fun for their campers, teaching skills, providing encouragement and support. 

• Serves as a role model to students by demonstrating high standards of personal conduct. 

• Supervise campers and help guide parents to the assigned age groups. 

• Responsible for campers' safety; on the bus, on a trip, at activities, and during transitions. 

• Reports any accident to proper camp personnel. 

• Takes accurate attendance of campers daily.


Qualifications

• Must be able to legally work in the United States.

• Must be over 18 years of age or high school graduate, preference will be given to educators and computer science focused college students.

• Must have experience working with children. 

• First Aid and CPR certification is preferred. 

• Must pass all aspects of a background check. 

• Ability to interact with all age levels.

Compensation

$3,000.00 for June 10th - 30th
